Principal's Message

Dear Fees Firebird Family,

I am honored to serve as the principal of Fees College Prep Middle School. As your principal, I'm dedicated to motivating, encouraging, and supporting staff and students as we pursue excellence together. Our goal is to build lifelong, civically minded learners who are prepared to meet the challenges ahead.

I believe all students are capable of achieving at the highest level, and that we, as educators, must empower them to reach their full potential. It takes a collaborative effort to ensure our students' needs are met daily. As principal, I will work each day to build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and our community. Together, we will work to achieve our educational goals. Our team will be relentless in its commitment to preparing all students with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to be successful both now and in the future. We'll accomplish this by fostering a productive school culture and by providing a safe and challenging learning experience.

I'm excited to bring more than twenty years of experience in public education. I spent five years as a History teacher and coach at Page High School in Northern Arizona, two years at Cottonwood Middle School as an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, and eleven years as a High School Principal. The last two years I led Queen Creek's college and career readiness system called Advancement Via Individual Determination (A.V.I.D.). On a personal note, I'm a proud parent of four high schoolers, with the eldest graduating this coming year! My, how time flies as a parent!

One thing that has become evident to me in my short time associated with our school district is that we are a school district that possesses a relentless commitment to our students. As time progresses, I think that you will find that I am fully committed to the success of all students and seek to hold myself and the staff accountable for ensuring our students get the experiences they need to set themselves up for future success.

To ensure our students become critical thinkers, readers, writers, and collaborators, they need daily exposure to high quality, rigorous instruction. This will require them to be active participants in their learning, coming to school each day to engage in challenging content. But most importantly, I want our students to know that we care for them and will work together to ensure our campus adheres to our F.I.R.E. expectations.

In closing, I look forward to working with our Fees College Prep Middle School staff to make the 2024-2025 school year a year of excellence for our school community.

With sincere gratitude,

Paul D. Gagnon
